چکیده

Relative to the vast data regarding virulence mechanisms of Candida albicans, there is limited knowledge on emerging opportunistic human pathogen parapsilosis. The aim this study was generate and characterize an overexpression mutant collection identify explore factors in C. With obtained mutants, we investigated stress tolerance, morphology switch, biofilm formation, phagocytosis, vivo Galleria mellonella larvae mouse models. In order evaluate results, compared from parapsilosis analysis results derived previous deletion library characterizations. Of 37 identified eight with altered phenotypes controls. This work first report CPAR2_107240, CPAR2_108840, CPAR2_302400, CPAR2_406400, CPAR2_602820 as contributors by regulating functions associated host-pathogen interactions formation. Our findings also confirmed role CPAR2_109520, CPAR2_200040, CPAR2_500180 pathogenesis. attempt use strategy systematically assess gene function parapsilosis, our demonstrate that approach effective for such investigations.

Dal81 Regulates Expression of Arginine Metabolism Genes in Candida parapsilosis

Fungi can use a wide variety of nitrogen sources. In the absence of preferred sources such as ammonium, glutamate, and glutamine, secondary sources, including most other amino acids, are used. Expression of the nitrogen utilization pathways is very strongly controlled at the transcriptional level. Here, we investigated the regulation of nitrogen utilization in the pathogenic yeast Candida parap...

Systematic Phenotyping of a Large-Scale Candida glabrata Deletion Collection Reveals Novel Antifungal Tolerance Genes

The opportunistic fungal pathogen Candida glabrata is a frequent cause of candidiasis, causing infections ranging from superficial to life-threatening disseminated disease. The inherent tolerance of C. glabrata to azole drugs makes this pathogen a serious clinical threat. To identify novel genes implicated in antifungal drug tolerance, we have constructed a large-scale C. glabrata deletion libr...

Bioinformatics Analysis Reveals Genes Involved in the Pathogenesis of Ameloblastoma and Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumor

Pathogenesis of odontogenic tumors is not well known. It is important to identify genetic deregulations and molecular alterations. This study aimed to investigate, through bioinformatic analysis, the possible genes involved in the pathogenesis of ameloblastoma (AM) and keratocystic odontogenic tumor (KCOT). Genes involved in the pathogenesis of AM and KCOT were identified in GeneCards. Gene lis...

Regulation of ERG3, ERG6, and ERG11 Genes in Antifungal-Resistant isolates of Candida parapsilosis

Background: Candida parapsilosis is one of the five common strains of yeasts involved in invasive candidiasis. The expression analysis of sterol biosynthesis pathway genes, which are associated with resistance, can assist the better understanding of antifungal resistance mechanisms. Methods: The antifungal susceptibility of 120 clinical C. parapsilosis isolates was examined. The changes in the ...

Histone acetyltransferase Rtt109 is required for Candida albicans pathogenesis.

Candida albicans is a ubiquitous opportunistic pathogen that is the most prevalent cause of hospital-acquired fungal infections. In mammalian hosts, C. albicans is engulfed by phagocytes that attack the pathogen with DNA-damaging reactive oxygen species (ROS). Acetylation of histone H3 lysine 56 (H3K56) by the fungal-specific histone acetyltransferase Rtt109 is important for yeast model organis...
